She holds that <em>\u201cCryptoPunks remain special to the NFT space. The project derives value from being a pioneer in the field. Again, there\u2019s been a boom in NFTs. That, coupled with the status that one draws from owning them (CryptoPunks) increases their demand.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>CryptoPunks hogging the limelight<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ancstockinvestments.com\/blog\/2021\/11\/05\/cryptopunks-hit-5-1-billion-market-cap-half-value-top-5-nfts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">CryptoPunks<\/a> didn\u2019t only take the lion\u2019s share of the NFT traded volumes. It also led in the number of assets forming the list. Out of the ten, it contributed six artworks. SuperRare added a single asset while Bored Ape Yacht Club had three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, the SuperRare project had the priciest NFT on offer. Its All-Time High in the City (ATHC) artwork fetched 1630 ETH, that\u2019s about $6.2 million. ATHC is a product of XCOPY, 2018, one of the platform\u2019s leading artists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"501\" data-src=\"https:\/\/ancstockinvestments.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/QmVUyCyML8XRX3FAZMpatZxFQKvD2jY1qFTUawZSjwRyHn.gif\" alt=\"CryptoPunks Generated Nearly Half of Top 10 NFT Sales in the Last Month\" class=\"wp-image-2348 lazyload\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 800px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 800\/501;\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>CryptoPunks\u2019 C#2681 came in second after selling for 900 ETH which translates into $3 million. It has exchanged hands once and is the property of six individuals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Closing the top three best-sellers was Bored Ape Yacht Club\u2019s (BAYC) NFT 3562. The collectible went for 430 ETH or roughly $1.6 million. It has exchanged ownership once and has had five unique owners to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Booming NFT market<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>BAYC and CryptoPunks shared the remaining slots. While BAYC added two collectibles to the group, CryptoPunks contributed five. Bored Ape 1837 and 1401 sold for 820 ETH ($2.5 million) as the other CPs earned 1584 ETH or roughly $7 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Initially seen as a niche product, NFTs are steadily going mainstream. Analysts estimate its market has grown from $100 million in 2020 to about $22 billion in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All indicators point to further growth in 2022. Part of the growth is due to celebrities and corporate entities joining the NFT bandwagon. Business Mogul Kevin O\u2019Leary for instance had claimed that NFTs would eclipse <a href=\"https:\/\/ancstockinvestments.com\/blog\/2022\/01\/08\/bitcoin-doubles-number-monthly-active-address-5-years\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Bitcoin (opens in a new tab)\">Bitcoin<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sports personalities, including LeBron James, have joined the fray too. Even rappers like Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Colombian songstress Shakira haven\u2019t lagged.
