A recent analysis from Trading Platforms shows them accounting for $18.67 billion of the $26.3 billion sector in the past week. That figure gave the tokens a 71% holding of the Metaverse&#8217;s trading volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edith Reads from <a href=\"https:\/\/tradingplatforms.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Trading Platforms<\/a> has shared her thoughts on the recent study. According to Reads, there is a growing interest in the Metaverse buoyed by certain projects with a foothold in the sector.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u201cThese hold sway because of their fast-mover advantages and product differentiation. Again, they\u2019ve built a reputation for dependability and providing value to their users.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Dominant Metaverse tokens<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Decentraland (MANA) has the largest market cap of all the 185 projects the study considered. At the time of writing, its market valuation stood at $5.05 billion. That capitalization saw it command about 27% of the ten\u2019s total volume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following in the second to fourth spot were Sandbox (SAND), <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/ancstockinvestments.com\/blog\/2021\/10\/19\/axie-infinity-fastest-growing-nft-coin-2021\/\" target=\"_blank\">Axie Infinity<\/a> (AXS), and Theta Network (THETA). SAND commanded a market share of $3.66 billion. ENJ added $1.6 billion to the sector\u2019s total. The other two, in turn, contributed nearly $0.6 billion each. And rounding up the top ten were Ontology (ONT), Illuvium (ILV), and Ultra (UOS). The three had a combined cap of about $1.1 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Growing concerns about the Metaverse&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the Metaverse\u2019s soaring popularity, it has drawn disquiet from certain quarters. That exposure could lead to other nefarious activities such as identity theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, there are fears that the Metaverse could cause addictions to the VR world. That\u2019s because of the immersive experiences users can enjoy at a button\u2019s touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Again, others have argued that the Metaverse could heighten social anxiety in users. They hold that the Metaverse would lead to blurred lines between our real and virtual selves.
