Then, a month later, cryptos plummeted again after the US seized $2.3 million in crypto coins paid to the ransomware extortionists Darkside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite that, some of the world\u2019s largest crypto coins have managed to significantly increase their value since the beginning of 2021. In January, the price of the original meme coin amounted to $0.009. A month later, after the Tesla CEO Elon Musk and rapper Snoop Dogg sent out a <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2021\/06\/02\/dogecoin-market-cap-coinbase-pro-doge-price\/?utm_source=morning_brew#:~:text=Dogecoin%20now%20has%20a%20market,well%20above%20many%20of%20them.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">flurry of tweets<\/a> about the coin, its price jumped to $0.08 and continued rising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In May, it hit an all-time high of $0.7. Although this figure slipped to $0.20 last week, it still represents a massive 2,100% increase since the beginning of the year. Due to its recent surge in price, the original meme coin ranked as the eighth-largest crypto coin by market cap and the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/ancstockinvestments.com\/blog\/2021\/07\/14\/top-10-most-traded-cryptos-june-202\/\" target=\"_blank\">fifth most-traded cryptocurrency in June<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"infogram-embed\" data-id=\"3393f379-8025-473c-b205-e186086e29bc\" data-type=\"interactive\" data-title=\"Top 10 cryptocurrencies price increase in 2021\"><\/div><script>!function(e,i,n,s){var t=\"InfogramEmbeds\",d=e.getElementsByTagName(\"script\")[0];if(window[t]&&window[t].initialized)window[t].process&&window[t].process();else if(!e.getElementById(n)){var o=e.createElement(\"script\");o.async=1,o.id=n,o.src=\"https:\/\/e.infogram.com\/js\/dist\/embed-loader-min.js\",d.parentNode.insertBefore(o,d)}}(document,0,\"infogram-async\");<\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to the leading cryptocurrencies, Binance Coin has a significantly lower price. However, the world\u2019s fourth-largest digital coin with a market cap of $50.7 billion follows Dogecoin when it comes to price growth. Statistics show Binance Coin\u2019s price jumped by 727% over the last seven months, reaching $317.6 last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Bitcoin witnessed the smallest price growth among the top 10 cryptos<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Cardano\u2019s price jumped by 623% YTD, growing from $0.18 to $1.31. Uniswap follows with a 316% price increase in this period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After an outstanding performance throughout the last year, the price of the world\u2019s second-largest cryptocurrency, Ethereum, <a href=\"https:\/\/ancstockinvestments.com\/blog\/2021\/07\/09\/ethereum-adds-more-than-5-million-unique-addresses-ahead-upgrade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">exploded in 2021<\/a>. Between January and March, it soared by nearly 150% to over $1,800 and continued rising. After reaching an all-time high of $4,300 in May, Ethereum\u2019s price dropped to $2,063 last week, still a massive 180% increase YTD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Statistics show the world\u2019s biggest digital currency, Bitcoin, witnessed the smallest price increase since the beginning of the year. Bitcoin\u2019s price rallied over 100% in five months of 2021, helping its market cap hit $1.1 trillion at the beginning of May. However, by the end of the month, the flagship cryptocurrency fell to more than three-month lows, dropping to about $30,000 at one point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The unexpected pullback in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies came as a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/ancstockinvestments.com\/blog\/2021\/06\/23\/crypto-prices-crash-ahead-looming-death-cross\/\" target=\"_blank\">flurry of negative headlines<\/a> and catalysts, from Tesla CEO Elon Musk to a new round of regulations by the Chinese government.
