The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite dipped 0.7% to 14,672.68 while the Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.4% to 34,935.47.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shares of Amazon plummeted nearly 7.6% after the online retailer <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/07\/29\/amazon-amzn-earnings-q2-2021.html\" target=\"_blank\">reported its first quarterly revenue miss<\/a> in three years and gave weak third-quarter guidance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe width=560 height=349 src=https:\/\/player.cnbc.com\/p\/gZWlPC\/cnbc_global?playertype=synd&#038;byGuid=7000202494 frameborder=0 scrolling=no allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen ><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Pinterest sank even further by 18.2% after the company reported its second-quarter results, which showed a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/07\/29\/pinterest-pins-earnings-q2-2021.html\" target=\"_blank\">drop in monthly users<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Procter &amp; Gamble shares rose nearly 2% after the consumer giant <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2021\/07\/30\/procter-gamble-pg-q4-2021-earnings.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">beat analysts\u2019 estimates<\/a> for quarterly earnings and revenue. The company, however, warned that its earnings for 2022 could take a hit if prices of commodities increase.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shares of Robinhood rebounded shy of 1% in volatile trading on Friday after closing its debut session <a href=\"https:\/\/ancstockinvestments.com\/blog\/2021\/07\/31\/stocks-reach-record-highs-on-track-end-july-green\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"8% lower on Thursday (opens in a new tab)\">8% lower on Thursday<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the market, in recent weeks, has experienced some volatility, the major averages have struggled to close a solid month. The Dow added 1.3% while the Nasdaq climbed 1.2% in July.
