It, however, indicated that rate hikes could come sooner than expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While officials on the policymaking Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) didn\u2019t make any policy changes at their meeting this month, they did say the Fed <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/link.morningbrew.com\/click\/25117030.1672014\/aHR0cHM6Ly9hcG5ld3MuY29tL2FydGljbGUvYnVzaW5lc3MtaGVhbHRoLWNvcm9uYXZpcnVzLXBhbmRlbWljLWVjb25vbXktaW5mbGF0aW9uLTE2NTRkZDg5NDg0YWE0YmZjYzFmYTJjMzMyOThjOGU0\/5fcc928cb841c862285e5c6fBedb69304\" target=\"_blank\">could begin shrinking<\/a> its stimulus program in November and potentially raise interest rates in 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe width=560 height=349 src=https:\/\/player.cnbc.com\/p\/gZWlPC\/cnbc_global?playertype=synd&#038;byGuid=7000210932 frameborder=0 scrolling=no allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen oallowfullscreen msallowfullscreen ><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p>Fed Chairman, Jerome Powell, said the Fed appears to have achieved more than significant progress on inflation and employment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Markets shaved some of their gains following the Fed news, with major stock averages still showing strong gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The S&amp;P 500 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/link.morningbrew.com\/click\/25117030.1672014\/aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuY25iYy5jb20vMjAyMS8wOS8yMS9zdG9jay1tYXJrZXQtZnV0dXJlcy1vcGVuLXRvLWNsb3NlLW5ld3MuaHRtbA\/5fcc928cb841c862285e5c6fB163ea591\" target=\"_blank\">snapped their four-day losing streaks<\/a>. The Fed raised its GDP projections for 2022 and 2023 to growth of 3.8% and 2.5%, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Projections also signaled that FOMC members see inflation stronger than June projections.
